Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has confirmed press reports she has given birth to her first child.

The star, 28, and actor fiance Peter Sarsgaard welcomed little Ramona in a New York City hospital on Tuesday.

The actress' representative Amanda Silverman tells People magazine, "Everyone is healthy and happy."

The couple, who have been dating since late 2002, announced Gyllenhaal's pregnancy and their plans to marry in April.

i've always adored betty paige for a lot of reasons and i'm really excited that gretchen mol is playing her. good choice. she's not too popular, she's pretty, and she can actually act. i was a bit skeptical at first, since she's a blonde, but from the pictures that i've seen, i like it. i think she's a bit too skinny for the role, but hopefully her acting will make up for that.
